Although the scene will have been set and lit and the actors are all professionals, taking stills on a film set is difficult, requiring an almost unique combination of discretion, persistence, opportunism, observation and diplomacy. The good bit is that when you manage to get the time and the access, some great shots are possible and the pleasure of briefly being part of the team and watching first class actors at work makes it all worthwhile.
